![]() In this chapter a very
special encounter between Curtis
and Byron Katie will
be mentioned, as well as the impressive fairwell ceremony in December 1999.

The encounter resulted in Curtis' support and co-operation in a musical project around The Work. Katie has been doing The Work all over the world, with the sick, with imprisoned people, with children, ordinary, hopeless and dying people. ![]() |

We all tell our own story about what's going on and respond to our interpretation of what we seemingly perceive outside of ourselves. Yet, the WORK reveals that it is not so. We all create our own realities, yet beyond the individual dream of what "it all means" is the Reality that joins us all in Truth. Without diving into the WORK here, we will state that the miracle-working power of simple truth is available on this planet . Today more than ever. Read what MAZ has to stay about this in a little essay, if you wish. We only provide you with this information, and link to Katie's WORK , for the sake of completeness of this Volume. And in honor of all the teachers of God who devote themselves to sharing what works for them, and might work for you, whatever the problem may be that confronts you. |

Curtis wrote the song in which Jimi's last lyrics is processed, containing an amazing message to the world, in late 1971. In late summer 1999 he played the song to MAZ, suggesting that it would be produced one more time. This time he hoped it could be shared with the world since the message is timeless and so worthy sharing. MAZ was a little hesitating to work on the song. He knew that this would be a historical moment and the song would need much sincere attention. On saturday, September 9th 1999, his friend Andi Reisner came to the SigNatureA®t studio on MAZ's invitation. "Somehow I felt Andi is the only one to interpret the guitars the way they should be sounding today. We know each other for 20 years. We began producing in the morning. When we were finished around 11 o'clock at night an incredible energy had filled the studio. The only thing that hadn't occured was literally a burning guitar. Andi played it as if it was on fire!" |

| Curtis and Annette
had been visiting the garden outside the village that saturday. Andi had
already returned to Cologne saturday night, so MAZ called Curtis
sunday morning to set a time for noon to let him hear what the friends
had produced.
"Awesome!" he commented when he heard the song. He was very impressed. "I can't believe you guys played that without rehearsal! Let's write Andi a letter, Martin." he suggested. MAZ thought calling Andi on the phone to introduce them both to each other right away was a better option. So that's what happened. "I guess I have rehearsed for that all my life." said Andi in response to the compliments Curtis expressed towards him. MAZ remembers that he never before saw Curtis being that excited. The "Noel Redding"-like bass line on the recording we present to you here was over-dubbed later in December, a couple of days after Curtis had made his transition. MAZ and Annette's idea was to play that song on the funeral ceremony. Rob Orlemans was visiting Lelystad for a personal fair-well and condolence as MAZ asked him to play the bass part. Using a harmonizer, he complimented that historical recording. |

This had been inevitable. MAZ had been staying overnight on November 28th. They all felt that this night could be the time for Curtis' transition. And that it turned out to be. What we share here with you are the intimate moments of the fair-well ceremony in Amsterdam the morning of December 3rd. Closest family and friends, fellow musicians and their families have been attending the ceremony at the "Oude Oosterse Begraafplaats". This location was chosen since Curtis felt a strong bond to Annette's grandfather, having his resting place right there. On the right you can hear and see a quite emotional slide-show MAZ put together on Curtis' birthday in the year 2000. The music accompanying the slides was played during sunrise November 29th 1999. Curtis had left into the rising sun that morning at 6 o'clock. MAZ composed the instrumental piece for his journey into the Light, naming it "The Great Spirit".
